Philip Simmons
I waited in a small dingy pub in Wimbledon, waiting for Wimbledon Rangers's latest club captain Philip Simmons to arrive. He eventually did although he seemed preoccupied, this is what Philip Simmons had to say about the club at present.
The Interview
How do you feel about becoming Wimbledon Rangers captain?
It is an honour following the footsteps of Andrew and Yusuf, and I want to carry on the winning run.
Why do you think you were chosen as captain?
Mainly because of my performances, but also because I'm Bob's best friend. That question really needs to be answered by the manager
What do you think about previous captains?
They did well. But the manager must have felt that there was need for a change to someone who was his best friend.
Who do you consider key players in the squad?
I don't think there are any key players; we play as a team and this week we won. Shame about that final, though.
How do you feel about the Rangers performance on Saturday?
We battled well considering the awful conditions we were competing against, e.g. the quality of our own players. The most important thing is that we won
Who was the key player in the match?
James, who was the unsung hero of the match
What did the goal you scored on Saturday mean to you?
Well, I felt pretty damn good, even though I told the team it was still 1-1, I was ecstatic!
How do you feel about Robert Murray managerial knowledge?
What knowledge? Well, I think these are leading questions, and personally I think Bob has done well, because I would think that, wouldn't I? Hopefully this result will relieve some pressure.
Would you like to see any additions to the squad?
No, I think we have more than enough (e.g. Alan).
Do you have any comments to make about the stalker case?
I think other people have made this story bigger than it is. And if those messages are really from ****** (Robert's name not allowed to be given due to legal reasons.) I am truly scared!
Finally is there anything else you wish to say
I would just like to say that since I have moved into midfield I have scored a goal a game. One more win and we are in the cup final!
Comming Soon (in about a year) I talk to Wimbledon Rangers' newest signing John Doyle. If you wish to comment on this interview or want to ask a question to John for next week / millennium, you can leave a message on our message board.
